Milford Sound - Fjordland
I apologize for being so far behind on my blog. I'm going to try my best to catch up and will post pictures as soon as I can (having a bit of trouble right now). Even though none of the pictures do them justice, you guys have to see the enchanting beauty of Milford Sound (without the sand flies) and the Great Barrier Reefs (without the reef roaches).

I rented a car with a couple of American's, Noelle, Rita and Manisha, in Queenstown and together we headed off to Milford Sound, fjord land. After basing ourselves in Te Anau, we completed undoubtedly the most stunningly beautiful scenic drive I've ever been on in our journey out to Milford Sound. We drove through beautifully flowered dessert landscapes, endless fields of gorgeous wildflowers with majestic mountains painted in the background, rugged shear cliffs, glaciers, waterfalls, etc. The scenery was absolutely spectacular and amazing.
I couldn't imagine how the destination, Milford Sound, could possibly be any better than the journey to it. A short two hour cruise, the sole reason for driving eight hours total to Milford and back, through the fjord changed my mind. On the beautiful day we were blessed with, we floated under unbelievably amazing peaks, cliffs and waterfalls in the stellar glacier carved landscape. Unfortunately, we were all hoping for it to piss rain on us and the rainforests above, because only then can you truly experience and appreciate the magnitude of the beauty that is Milford Sound. The reason being, rain is the ingredient that turns the endless shear rock cliffs and typical waterfalls (typical being several times taller than Niagara) into awe inspiring walls of water. Oh well, maybe next time. (Pictures to come, I promise)
